Clothing Alteration Question

DDCreateDDCreate Posts: 1,404

I have a pair of pants and was wondering if there was a way, maybe using PS or something, that I could shorten the hem of the pants from ankle length to shin length. I know I may be dreaming on this one but I just thought I'd ask.

Yes, using Photoshop you can do this by making a trans map to alter the leg length.   White is the part you want, black is transparent.

Ohhh cool!! Thanks Chohole! I'm pretty new to PS so I didn't know that. Off to youtube for a tutorial! Thanks again!

You can get a rough idea from my Tutorial  on my site here  http://chohole.ovbi.org/texture_tutorial.htm    It is a general texturing tut,  but gives you an idea as to how to make the trans map.

Hey, DDCreate,  Chohole's tutorial is great and I'm sure it probably answered your questions.  However, just in case it didn't and you still have any questions or just want another view of basically doing something similar, check out my thread that starts here,  I went step by step on how I shortened a shirt for an image recently.  It never hurts to see more than one person's way of saying the same thing.  Hopefully, one of us will click with you.  Good luck!
