"Filter by Content" box

I have significant content in my library which does not show up in my Smart Content plane.  When I try to get it to do so, it tells me to "uncheck the filter by content box".

 

Will this have any dire unforeseen consequences?  If not, where do I find it?

The check box is "Filter by Context" and is found at the bottom of the Smart Content pane. It it only a filter for what the Smart Content pane shows you. You can toggle it off and on whenever you want to with no permanent consequences. When checked, it limits the items displayed in the Smart Content pane to items that are compatible with the currently selected object in the Scene pane. So, if you select Genesis 3 Male in the Scene Pane, you will see only items compatible with him. You won't see items for other generation characters, for example. If you want to autofit clothing for other generations, you would uncheck that Filter by Context box so Smart Content shows you clothing for all characters.

All this relies on having good metadata for the products. Many older Daz Studio products, like products for Victoria 4 and Michael 4, have no metadata at all, so they have no compatibility data. Items purchased at other stores don't usually have Daz compatible metadata, either.
