Is Daz required to be RUN in the Admin account?

I haven't had Daz Studio installed for a half a year now. I never got time to properly study it, anyway. (Enough time to keep grabbing the fantastic sales at Daz3D, though!). I'm back now, with one question that's always bothered me.

Do you have to both install and run it in the Admin account, or after installation can you run it from a user account? (Where it's safer because you occasionally have to be online). I recall trying to run it from my user account and found it not to work at all. (It's too long ago to remember any details).

Forum threads I've read are contradictory. One says you have to right-click and run it as Administrator. If that's true, I might as well run it from my Admin account, which I refuse to do online. So back to no DLM, etc.

If you say it's possible to run as a standard user, then I'll buckle down and figure out how. Otherwise, I don't want to waste the time trying. It's hard enough adapting to Windows 10.

If it has to be run in Admin, why??? Being online in Windows is dangerous enough in a user account, but Admin!?

(Speaking to you from Linux, of course).

    The answer is no.

  • Sorry I missed your response, Cris Palomino! I'm not getting notices anymore, for some reason.

So I've been wrong these 4 years. It must have been something else that kept it from working via my user account. Now that I'm inflicted with Windows 10, I'll try again.

How frustrating. In 4 years I've created 4 images and a couple of very embarrassing videos. I envy you folks who have the time and experience to really get involved. This has been my dream for many decades, and I'll never give up. Thanks again for your response.
