pink object after iray render

Hi everyone,

I updated Daz to 4.9 version and when I tried to render scene, object (it doesn't matter what), it's pink like in the attachement.

Does anyone know where the problem is?

Thanks for help in advance : )

Kaspersky (or Panda) anti-virus? It has removed the freeimage.dll file used by Iray - almost certainly a fals-positive so rescue it back from the quarantine area, or reinstall DS, scan with another on-demand or on-lne scanner to be safe, and don't let your AV delete that file..

Yep, I had this happen.  I just had to reinstall DazStudio and it was fixed.

  • Thank you Richard. It's true kaspersky removes freeimage.dill file.

    Good luck :)

  • Thank you! I use 360 TotalSecurity and I found it in Quarantine. I closed DS, restored it and put it on the safe list. When I restarted and did a test render it worked fine. :-)

I'm using zonealarm, and listed freeimage in the exceptions list and I still get pink renders now even when zonealarm is turned off.frown

Did you also restore it from quarantine?

  • Zonealarm can be probelematic with the PostgreSQL database engine used by DS, unless a recent update has finally fixed the long-standing issue

I've removed it from quaratine, added daz and postgre to the super zone, allowed Daz, etc but I'm missing something. Uninstalling and reinstalling Daz worked untill I shut down my pc. On re-start, back to pink renders again. Turning zonealarm off doesn't help either. As far as I can tell, all the daz lib dll's and processes are allowed. I'm wondering If I'll have to uninstall zonealarm altogether and reinstall daz again. If that's the case, can anyone recomend a firewall/antivirus that plays well with Daz?

Looking at the log file shows a ton of cryptic postgre errors, on a side note, I've never been able to use cms, I have to work in off line mode. Uninstalling postrgre and reinstalling had no effect. DIM seems to work just fine.

Seems to me that ZA is taking a dim view of OpenSource software...and yes freeimage.dll is an OpenSource project.   I would specifically whitelist freeimage.dll and if that doesn't help, just get rid of ZA (*Windows built-in security software is actually aadequate...for a change).

I have whitelisted freeimage.dll. Uninstalling and reinstalling postgre cms has things working again. But yeah, ZA seems to cause more problems then it solves. I'm betting DS will be rendering pink again after my next restart.

  • Zonealarm leaves the Beta version alone for some reason, that's the one I use. The public version it always ends up pink! :-(

I could not get zonealarm to play nice with D/S at all. I had to toss ZA, then uninstall and reinstall Daz to get it working again.

Oddly enough I still cannot with smart content.
