First attempt at making a very simple article of clothing: a problem.

Hello-
I would like to create a leg garter for Genesis 2 Female figures, and am using ZBrush. It's a simple article and was pretty easy to create and import back into Daz:
However, when I move my figure around into different positions, the garter sometimes distorts in extreme ways, as if it were glued to the surface of my actor:
I would like the item to behave more naturally. Specifically, in the above pose, I would expect it to maintain pretty much the same width as it circles around the actor's thigh, and not stretch out. The only way this might happen in reality is if the garter was made of a very elastic material and was very tightly hugging (or was glued to!) my actor's leg.
I used the transfer utility to attach the item to my model, and have tried different projections, such as none, full body, and knee length skirt. The smoothing option corrects severe tears which otherwise appear when the object is distorted, but nothing seems to make it behave the way I would expect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You probably need to make custom JCMs (joint controlled morphs) that adjust the shape. Adjust only one bend on an otherwise zeroed figure, send both clothing and figure to ZBrush, and adjust the shape, then go back to DS and make the change a new morph deformation on (I think it is the default mode using GoZ). Right-click on the parametrs pane and select Edit Mode (if it isn't selected already), then right-click on the bend parameter and select ERC Freeze. Check that the bend is the controller and that your new morph is the only thing selected under sub-components, click Accept. Make sure that the morph works reasonable - you may want to adjust the limits so that it doesn't go below zero, usually you will need different JCMs for positive and negative bends. You wil probably want to set teh morph as hidden too. If all is well, File>Save as>Support Assets>Morph Asset (assuming the figure has already been saved as an asset).
