The Great Render Challenge

Are you looking for a chance to showcase your skills and creativity? Do you have a passion for creating stunning 3D images that tell a story? If so, then get ready for our brand-new contest!

Introducing the The Great Render Challenge, a competition designed to showcase the best and brightest from around the world, here at Daz3d. We're looking for individuals who can create breathtaking scenes that capture the imagination and bring stories to life.

Each week, we'll provide the name of two new Genesis 9 characters that you must include in your scene, along with a theme that you can interpret in any way you like. You'll have the creative freedom to bring your ideas to life and create scenes that are both beautiful and thought-provoking.

We're looking for you to create realistic, immersive scenes that transport the viewer to another world. We want to see your creativity shine and your artistic vision come to life.

But this contest is more than just a chance to show off your skills. It's an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, and gain valuable feedback and insights. We believe that 3D art is the future of digital media, and we want to see you pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

To enter, simply create a 3D scene that includes the two specific characters of the week and fits the theme. Submit your entry before the deadline. Each week, we'll select a winner based on creativity, technical skill, and overall impact.

But the fun doesn't stop there. Each week, the winners will receive prizes, and their scene will be featured on our website and social media channels. Plus, all finalists will have the opportunity to have their entries showcased on our site, giving them exposure and recognition within our 3D art community.

So what are you waiting for? Let your creativity run wild and enter our 3D art contest for a chance to win big and make a name for yourself. We can't wait to see what you create!

On April 12, this was posted: "Create a render in Daz Studio using (TONIGHT'S RELEASE) and Julia". What product does TONIGHT'S RELEASE refer too? That's a pretty cryptic requirement.

  • It hasn't been released yet, so I can't put the name in. When it has, I can, and I will, and I will post the entries thread.

Oh, I see. Since you posted TONIGHT'S RELEASE on April 12, I assumed it was something released on April 12.

  • That was posted in an edit on the 19th. I'm not sure why it isn't showing being edited.

    Yes. Both characters in image.

Do they have to be "out of the box" or can we mix morphs, makeup, brows, nails, etc...

Character needs to be identifiable. So while some modifications are OK, like makeup, the character still needs to look like itself AKA mostly out of the box.

While I love the contest idea and it sounds like a lot of fun, I do have a question, or a concern really. Will these new releases be Genesis 9 figures only? Cost is a factor for me. USD is not my country's currency so I end up paying about a third more than the posted cost. Most of the content I buy these days is during a flash sale when I can get items for $5 or less. (Thanks for those, by the way!) That means I have been (mostly) staying away from Genesis 9 figures and content. sad

Quick question, does it have to be a render? Would a gif or short movie be optional,or is that a no go.

The render does not have to be a still. It could be a gif or movie or moving image.

Don't have Lawrence and unless the Julia discount ends up applying to just Lawrence, I won't be getting him, but I have a question.
    It says (6.) No... violence...

The lawrence bundles are all military.  MANY things sold in the daz store could be construed as revolving around violence.  Guns, bladed objects, other types of weapons, blood/gore/injury packs/morphs/decals/shaders, monstrous violent creatures, corpses, interhal human organs, realistic guts, etc.  Some things in the story feature advertisement renders with decapitated monsters, highly maimed characters, or creatures eating someone/something's insides.  So what is the ruler for this render is "violent" so not allowed because it breaks TOS and this render is just using the violent items in a realistic intention for such items but being acceptable?

As per gallery and forum TOS.

Could you point me to the specific rules via link if not what is defined at https://www.daz3d.com/terms-of-service in the "Gallery and Posted Image Conduct" section?  For simplicity I have posted an attachment of that section, but I don't know if there is another set of rules that would apply that I can't find.  I say this because posted section 6 said no violence.  I asked for a ruler ( a guideline) as to what counted as violence since the post said no violence.  The gallery and posted image conduct section of Terms & Conditions does "not" state violence is "not" allowed.  Instead it specifically states the below:

    • Images will not display rape, torture, or the act of physical mutilation.

    • Images that may appear gratuitously violent will be reviewed by the staff of this site for their appropriateness for inclusion in the gallery.

    • Images that contain depictions of children are especially sensitive and will be reviewed even more strictly than other such images.

The above I would condsider a good description of allowed content (ruler or guideline).  But, if that is the case then violence would be allowed within the limitations of the ToS which is different then no violence at all.  If there is another set of rules, though, that superceed that, I just need to know where they are so I could make sure I don't cross any lines.  I like horror and that can push boundaries, so a clear distinct line is useful.

    Thanks.

We used the word "violence" to describe the above scenarios.  We wish everything to be SFW (safe for work), so no graphic horror, or graphic depictions of rape, torture, or acts of physical mutilation.
Just remember that this is a PG-13 environment, anything beyond that will not be considered.

Thankyou for the reply.  That was more clear and helpful.  I was very confused as the term violence is very browd and many things can be considered "violence" based on the viewie including many of todays core bundle images one example being Kindred Arts VDB Explositions.  For wording purposes something like no graphic violence or extreme violence is probably generally clearer then just no violence as something as simple as a fist fight or martial art combat scene would technically be violence. So with that, now I know "violence" is allowed as long as it does not encroach into the areas talked about on the page I found.  Or in other words, PG-13 level violence is likely not an issue.
