XYZ Genesis scalings + tech. questions.

Hello,
I'm a french photographer and postproduction supervisor you can have a look at some of my works here and here.
I'm already using C4D + Octane in my 3d pipeline in conjonction with photographs i take in my studio.
i want to mix 3d with my photographs.
As my maine productions involve models i wanted to have Genesis matching a model i already took a picture of.
My problem is that Genesis is not having enough parameters to do so.
For example legs are not long enough / i cannot resize just the Y axis of this body part / same thing occurs with the back / the arms / and... well you figure it out ...
i cannot make Genesis match my model.
Poblem is that every model is different and i will need to shape Genesis to match each one i'll photograph.
I've seen Genesis 3 morphs from Daz 3d editor (you) available for ordering in your shop here on your website, and that it sort of free some new features like "leg lenght",
Could this option solve my problem ?
How can i export my scene with camera (coordinates + focal) and lights (coordinates) and a simple cube geometry as the model XYZ reference ?
.obj is okay or do i have to alambic things out ?
How could i import a geometry into Daz coming from a photogrammetry scan of a model ?
What's the extension file compatible with Daz ? will it handle the textures colours, glossyness, UVs, Normals ?
Ouf ;)
that's it for now !
fantastic software you got there !)
Cheer,
Arnaud.

Which Genesis, the original, or G2F or G2M or G3F? You can display the parameters for scaling the 'Y' axis for Genesis and Genesis 2 by checking 'Show Hidden Properties' in the Parameter pane drop-down menu.
You can save scenes in DAZ Studio in .DUF format, or in Collada (DAE) or FBX, but i don;t know if they contain all the scene elements or not, perhaps someone can advise you on that.
DAZ Studio can also import OBJ, DAE and FBX, as well as Poser PZ3 scene files.
Hello Jimmy !
Thanks for your reply,
i currently use Genesis 3 Female Actor and i've found the hidden dropdown menu thanks to your reply;
thank you very much ;) now i'm more into what i want to do i.e. : X Y Z scalings for each body parts.
I don't really catch why is that those features are hidden as it's a 3d program but hey must be part of the
marketing "easy-easy" to use software : 3d is 3d it's 3 axis based, not homothetic anyway ....
you're so much more used to this soft than i i've just downloaded it today and you've been in for 10 yrs.
there's a lot i can compare to c4d as for the layout style and easy settting up things.
On my laptop menues are a bit too small to read hem correctly as for a newcomer in a software
it should be cool to have hem written bigger with bigger icons so to keep aware and remind what's doing what,
a thing c4d is great at : you begin with large icons then as you go you can customise each pannel with smaller icons.
I see a metric or inch based system a must in but not as a plugin,
my point on plugins is that i don't want to install stuff than may come as a conflict in my app and force to reinstall
from scratch.
Something important is missing as a newcomer i was completelly lost in your shop,
may be having a new entry is necessary big title, clear type, :
- the must have as a newcomer
- what customers have downloaded the most after installing the software
which stands to focus a newcomer on the next step he could be going to.
tutorials for beginners :
What's a morph ?
what are those other names usefull for ? What is that "Victoria" usefull for ?
Comparing to Victoria who is Genesis ?
and so on...
Those are simple questions but it's a bit hard to find out the answers, a vdo tutorials on those aspects might help
out the beginners to enter the world of Daz !
i finf this very important because as i'm used to simplify things for my customers need when
they come with their new product and a lot to say it's important to adress simplest things first so to keep
new customers in the loop and keep hem with the brand.
That was a long message sorry,
anyway ....
thanks a lot Jimmy ;)
and have a good one,
Arnaud.
There are many stickied threads at the top of this forum, like this glossary which is meant for new users.

There is also this thread on Historical Figures : http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewthread/24257/
Inside DAZ Studio, go to the Help > Home, and you will find Interactive tutorials and many more links.
There is no way to change the font or icon size inside DS at the moment
Another thing to point out, Genesis 3 Female is brand new figure, with completely new rigging and UV mapping. It came out about a week ago, and everyone is finding their way with it. There are some morph packs available at the moment, but more are in the works.
