Questions regarding objects that impact Iray render times

Will objects with 'Visible in Render' set to 'Off' impact render times?

Will objects with 'Cutout Opacity' set to 0 impact render times?

Will objects that cannot be seen, directly or in reflections, impact render times? For example, a small box completely contained within a larger and opaque box?

    No

Probably a bit, though they should be fairly quickly dismissed

I don't know - if nothing else they will take RAM.

    That's a definite maybe...

Let's say you have a 'box' sitting on a table...depending on the surface settings, there is a chance that something inside that box can be part of the calculations for the image. If the box truly opaque...no translucency, no SSS in the material, then anything inside it probably won't be counted. But with SSS or translucency, even tiny amounts, then it's possible. But whether Iray will totally ignore it, I don't know.
