Difficulty Adjusting Lighting in DAZ Studio Iradium 4.8

edited December 1969 in New Users

I'm new to DAZ but a Poser veteran and I absolutely will never go back to Poser. Love DAZ studio so much...

But< I'm having real difficulty with lighting levels... For instance, I'm wanting just a single and dim point light in the scene I'm working on but the render keeps coming out way too bright, even with the point light (only light in the scene) adjust to 1 or 2%. Even tried negative light intensity after adjusting the parameters (which is interesting in itself - would a negative light intensity suck light out of an area?)

Anyway, even with one light set low and even when I drag the light far from the figure its basically rendering the same - quite bright... I understand that 'Preview Lights' don't affect rendered lighting once other lights are introduced to the scene. Have a got that right? They turn off when you place your own lights? I feel like I'm missing something simple and fundamental but am tossing my pride aside to ask for some help! :)

If you have a camera in your scene, check for the "headlamp" and turn it to "off".
You control the light through lumiance.
And if you just want to use a light, in Render settings, select "scene only".
