You can always place people inside other objects - indeed, often avoiding it can be a pain. You may need to tweak the material settings, or use a water material setting from another product, for the best results - I can't recall how the water in the tropical scenes is set up.

TheTtropicals sets, and most other environments, are actually modelled for the near elements though some environment sets sets will also use images for the more distant elements

Ok thanks. I was just asking because the free beach scene has the water "in the wall" and not "on the ground", so you can't have people in the ocean.
