Stained glass window in Iray

Didn't want to post this in the commons because it feels like it should be a fairly easy material to work with.

Okay, the short version. I'm using the awesome Sacrament set which features a gorgeous stained glass window at the front of the cathedral. Similar to a scene I did using Reality, I would like to have the sunlight streaming through this window and cast it's colorful sheen on the interior.

For the life of me though, i can't seem to get the materials right. Most times the window becomes opaque, and other times it becomes almost entirely transparent. I can't seem to find a happy middle ground where the window exists and the light is tinted on the way through.

Victoria 7 needs a great debut before she graces my DeviantArt, so let's give her the scene she deserves. Thanks in advance guys.

Here's one method using the glossy layer...

make sure "Share glossy inputs" is on.

put your colour or image in the "Glossy color"

put in any non-zero "Refraction weight"

    use "Thin walled"
