Bones in clothing?

Some time back I had asked about how to fit a dress to a figures posture because she was leaning but the dress was sticking outward as if she was standing straight up. A number of people replied and one person was telling me something about modifying the bones or something of the dress. I can't find the post or remember what the person said the procedure was.
Can someone tell me how you access clothing bones? This time I'll write it down in my daz notebook.
