Hi I have the skeleton for V4. Is it possible to fit it to the genesis figures. I had a go but it sticks out in places. Just wondered if it is possible if you go about it the right way. Thanks
You should be able to use AutoFit to conform it to Genesis.
Load your V4 skeleton, select it in the Scene pane, right click, and select Fit To and then select Genesis. That should cause the AutoFit dialogue to appear, and then just use it like fitting clothing.
I don't have the V4 version, but I tried this with M3 skeleton, and it worked well, none of the skeleton pokes out of the Genesis figure.
Hi JimmyC, thanks for the info. I tried that but for me bits were still sticking out, fingers, toes and sternum. Any more ideas? Would be nice to be able to use the genesis figure.
For some reason, I don't have the V4 version at all, only the V3/M3 skeleton, and it seems to work well.
I used the 'Bodysuit' clone in AutoFit, and the result was good. Why V4 wouldn't work that way I don't know. Once you have it conformed to V4, you could try scaling the parts that poke through.
I tried that just now and still no good for me. The feet stance isn't the same and several bit are poking out. I could scale all the bit I was just hoping for a good fix.
I have put the skeleton inside of v4 for the moment but how do you make them move as one. The two are still independent at the moment. I did do the fit thing.
The skeleton would need to be made 'conforming', that means that the bones in the skeleton move exactly the same as the bones in the figure.
If you right click on the skeleton, you should be able to make it conform to Genesis, but that may mess up the position, but it is the only way I know to do it simply.
The other thing that you could try, if that doesn't work, is to use the same pose on the Skeleton as on Genesis. Poses don't work exactly the same between figures of two different generations, but it's worth a try. The alternative may be to try the M3 or V3 skeleton, you can return it within 30 days if it doesn't work out for you.
I am now trying just to get things to work with V4 but no matter which way I try I seem to have a problem with the feet. This is the skeleton for v4 so they should be compatible. Ant idea what I am doing wrong?
so it should work. You are using the V4 figure itself, and not just a shape for Genesis or Genesis 2? I have to ask.
If you are using the V4 figure, select it in the Scene pane, go to the Parameters pane, use the drop down menu, and select Zero > Figure. You may need to do the same with the Skeleton, then it should conform to V4 using the right click, the 'Fit....To' option.
The Product Page could help by saying 'V4 conforms accurately to this Skeleton' :)
Indeed it could. I can't remember where, or even when, I found out about this, but yes the skeleton wears V4 as clothing, rather than the other way round. It sort of makes sense. :coolsmirk:
The V4 Skeleton comes with a "V4 Conform Pose". Here's the instructions on how to conform the V4 Skeleton to V4 from the DAZ Wiki-docs.
To conform V4 to Skeleton for DAZ Studio and Poser
1. Load the V4 Skeleton
2. With the Skeleton Selected apply the V4 Conform Pose
3. Load V4 (In Poser Turn off IK for V4)
4. With V4 selected apply the V4 Conform Pose
5. Conform V4 to the Skeleton:
“Fit To” in Studio
"Conform To“ in Poser
In Poser Only, you will have to reapply the V4 Conform Pose to V4
I tested this with M4 and the M4 Skeleton and without the conform pose, I get the same conform poke thru issue as the OP. Here is a picture of my conforming result with M4 and M4 Skeleton using the conform pose.

What do you want to use it for?

Actually you conform V4 to the skeleton.
Thanks Pam, I don't have this.

Thanks Lindsey, a great help :)
Thanks everyone, Yes Lindsey that worked perfect. It's amazing how much time you can use up just doing things wrong :)
Thanks again
You're welcome! As always, I don't normally review the product documentation unless there is a problem. Good example to break that habit... LOL
