Aux Viewport for Render Preview?

Is there a way to use the Aux viewport for render preview? Working in Iray my scenes are basically black until I render.

    Have you tried changing the draw style (where you can select Texture Shades, Wireframe, etc) to Iray?

    Are you using the preview light. It's in the Menu Bar under Window - Preview Lights, there is a lamp icon next to it.

    Thanks. I found that tab to have the aux window in Iray mode. And I also found the Preview Light. Unchecking it makes the scene more visible.
