Hair with M6?
I have a bunch of old hair content, but when I select M6, my only option is "Basic Hair" that comes out looking like fat noodles. Why doesn't my older hair content show up? I should be able to load it, parent it to his head and work just fine. And why the noodle look? And when I do load a hair-set like Guillaume it really slows down the program…is that a mesh or resolution issue? Thanks.

What generation figure was the hair made for?
I'm sure the old hair content I have is for older figures. Not Michael 6. It was probably for Genesis or G2. I've certainly used Genesis hair with G2 figures before and had no problem.
Hair for older figures will not show up in Smart Content when G2 or M6 is selected, because the DAZ metadata compatibility information is only set to the older figures. The Genesis hair will autofit to M6 very well, but you have to locate it in the Content Library without the assistance of Smart Content.
As to the noodle hair, have you applied a material texture to it? Some hair products load with just a plain white surface. To get it looking like hair, you have to select and apply a texture.
Basic Hair, I think, loads untextured. If you apply a texture to it, that should resolve the "fat noodle" look.
Smart Content is context-sensitive...it will show products designed to work with whatever is selected in the scene. Any hair made for Genesis 2 Male(s) should show up in Smart Content when Michael 6 is selected (assuming it has metadata). Hair made for other figures will not show in Smart Content when Michael 6 is selected, but you should be able to load it from the Content Library. Or, deselect M6 and you may see more things showing up in Smart Content.
Edited to add: Guillaume is FiberMesh hair, which is more taxing on the system than traditional transmapped hair (I think because of the mesh/number of polygons).

Doh! Thanks much for the advice. Huge help.
