Where is all my Stuff?
Since upgrading to the Daz 4.8 Beta and then to the latter version, I can only see a fraction of my content in the Smart Content folder. I only see a fraction in the Content Library. And even then things are filed in strange ways (something I've never understood going back to 4.6). Some environments are in "Environments" others are in "Scene". Some clothing is in "Wardrobe" while others are in People. Is there any way to clean all this up? Even manually? I'm on a Mac. Should I go into Finder and try to rearrange all these files somehow? And how do I find the stuff I know I have but isn't revealed in the program itself. I've already tried to re-import Metadata. Should I try to re-import everything in Install Manager?

Leave everything alone...files, that is, and create categories and categorize the content the way you want it...then use the category, as opposed to file display.
As to the Smart Content...are you sure you have everything mapped correctly in the Content Directory Manager?
Not sure of the actual folder paths on a Mac, but there is probably more than one...and maybe even 3, since you had the Beta in the mix, too...
How do you create new categories? I assume you're talking about doing this within the program and not outside in the Mac Finder world. I have checked Directory Manager and if I'm reading it right both Daz and Poser are pointing to the appropriate folder on my secondary drive where I keep all the content. Thanks for the suggestions.
Here's what mine looks like (ignore the fact that it's showing Windows directories). Pay particular attention to the names of the two on C drive...one is the default used by Studio and the other is the default used by DIM...if you are using the DIM then you need BOTH sets mapped.
For categories, yes, from within Studio...
Thanks. I'm trying to match mine to yours but there's a bit of a difference. I have the program on one drive and my content on another. So I have a: Volumes/1TBDriver/My Daz Library (where the content is)
and also on the main drive: users/"me"/documents/daze 3d/studio/my library (but there isn't much here).
I had removed that latter file thinking it might be confusing the issue. I restored it and Smart Content shows more items, but may have no image and instead have a yellow exclamation mark.
Now a reimport/fix the database might work...
