Allowing minor children access to forums under my account

I had e-mailed customer service about installing DAZ on my 14 year old twin sons computer and my 12 year old son's computer. I was told to use the same serial number for all three computers but my 19 year old son would need his own serial number for the copy of DAZ installed on his computer. I have set it up that way as I was told.

My question is related to the forum here.

Since my sons are under age, is it alright to allow them to use my login information to access the forums, so they can take advantage of the knowledge base here?

Thank you in Advance

Mark

If you are okay with that they might post under your name, etc.
But you can always go and create an account for them, using their own email. I don't see any reasons that would speak agains that. Your 19 year old son is old enough to know what he's doing; the younger ones - you'd need to do the parential supervision stuff a bit. ;-)

In actual fact the EULA does say that each user should have their own copy of Software and/or content. IF the computer(s) that your younger sons use are under your control then it would be OK for them to use your software.

As regards the account name to log in to forums etc, I would think it would be better for them to have a separate account, as your log in would enable them to not only access the forums, but also your store account and any payment system you have set up for the store. As the email address is the login name then you would need an email address for them in order to start an account for them. We are a family friendly site, and don't allow "adult" material on the forum

The boys keep their computer's in their rooms or in the living room. However I didn't think about the store and the payment setup. I'll have the boys register for their own accounts so they can use the forums under their own accounts.

Thank you very much for the timely response.

My kids who have been interested in using Daz software registered their own accounts once they hit high school.

I think separate accounts will also make it easier as far as responses to questions and so forth posted on the boards.

The only problem I've had was when I ended up answering some questions from my daughter's account, because she used my computer to log in...but didn't remember to log out.

The twins share a computer, but the youngest and the oldest have their own. I'll get them set up later this afternoon with their own accounts.
