I just upgraded to 4.8. Right now I'm looking for anyone to help me with the product "Real lights for Iray". My next art piece I want to import some 3D text and put a neon glow effect on it.

It should be: select the text object(s) and their surface(s) - using the Surface selection tool from the Tools menu is the simplest way to do this - then double-click the prset for the light you want to use.

I've split this to a new thread in the New Users Help forum, the Welcome thread is mainly for "Hello World" posts rather than questions.

I wanted to buy this Real lights for Daz but was having doubts of what it can do. Does it light any light bulb, and texts?

Yes, it is a set of surface shader presets adjusted to match real lights and can be used on any surface.

doesn't DS 4.8 technically already come with Emissive shaders? Or is this a supped-up version?
