Issue removing the default light

Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? I can't remove the default light. I've added my own lights, removed them and added them again. I even tried adding new cameras, but no matter what I do the default light is always there. It's driving me nuts!

The default light (Headlamp) can be switched off in the Parameters pane, by select the Camera.
One of the parameters at the bottom is called 'Headlamp' and it can be set to Auto, Off or On. This is a fairly recent thing, and it can be very useful. In the past, the Headlamp was always removed as soon as a proper light was created.
If you don't have a camera in the scene, go to the Render settings.
Look under "General" for "Auto Headlamp", and change the setting to "Never".
That $%§$% light drove me nuts when I was rendering without a camera and only using dome...
Thank you so much for telling me the 2 locations of the headlamp setting. I changed it in the render window, but it still didn't remove it.
It honestly is quite annoying in my opinion, although I understand that this makes things much easier for beginning artists not having to worry about lighting at first.
Either way, this one extra lamp increased my render times from 45 minutes to 2 hours -_- I wasted 4 hours on 2 renders before I figured it out. Well, that's half a day gone lol!
EDIT: Nope, I turned off the headlamp in the render settings and on my camera, but I still get a random headlamp ruining my render :(
Do you have more than one camera in your scene? I've been driven to distraction a few times recently because I've turned off the Headlight on one camera, switched to another camera, and the Headlight's back. The old system just had one Headlight in the whole scene, attached to whichever camera you're looking through, now each camera in the scene has its own Headlight, which must be turned off individually.
As for the switch in Render Settings, it seems to apply only to new cameras, not to already existing cameras. I think we're running up against global behaviour that doesn't have a global "off" switch, just a scene-based one.
