What causes the render to do this?

I'm getting these colors which are not part of the scene. There are several nodes of Garibaldi hair, and they seem to appear on them.

Which version of Studio?
Deep Shadow Map shadows?
Mjc has probably picked out the issue. This looks like the type of artifacts you get when rendering under 3delight and using Deep Shadow Map. Happens a lot with hair and hair-like objects.
Try using Raytraced shadows instead and see if it goes away.
Studio 4.8 and I'll bet my last buck you are both correct. I'm going back in the studio to check, but I think you nailed it.
