You can change the way the materials are distributed, and create new groups etc., but if you want to break up the actual mesh, then you would probably need a modelling program of some sort, they can all do what you are describing.
If you could explain a bit more of what you are trying to do, perhaps I can help more?
You can make a separate material zone in DAZ Studio, and turn the Opacity down on each bit that you don't want to appear, but to get separate mesh objects that can be used independently, you would need to use a modelling program.
Do you have Hexagon? If not you could use Blender (free) to split the object up into separate meshes, and import them into DS.
You can, with a bit of fiddling, do this in DAZ Studio with the Geometry editor tool (Tools menu). Using the Tool Settings pane (Window>Panes(Tabs)) use the + next to each surface you want as a single part to select those polygons, then right-click in the viewport and select Geometry Visibility>Hide Un-Selected Polygons, then right-click again and select Geometry Editing>Delete Hidden Polygons. That will give one part. Reload the base object and repeat the steps for the next part.

I would simply move each part object independently of each other. I can move the object but I would move each part separately.

This exactly I was looking for :) Thanks
