Unlike Poser, DAZ Studio does not have a 'Ground Plane'. You can show or hide the 'Floor' by using the drop down menu in the Viewport window 'Show Floor'. You can, of course, add a plane from Create > New Primitive > Plane, and move it using the normal Translate and Rotate parameters.
To add a background image, go to Window > Panes (Tabs) > Environment, and select 'Backdrop' from the dropdown menu there.
