Trouble rendering black people

It seems I get these funky dotted "tattoos" on skin whenever I try to render any black person. Be it Monique, to Sierra. What is going on? There is literally nothing else in the render except clothing. I rendered the scenery seperately to use as a backdrop because I thought it might be too many objects was cluttering things up but now it's just the actress and her clothes and every shade of material made for black people shows up with lines in it.

I believe I know what the cause is. Fret not, it's nothing to do with ethnicity. The shader used for the two you mentioned is the AoA subsurface shader. The same dotted 'tattoo' can also be seen on white or asian characters if the conditions are right.

The first thing to try is make the render size larger. If you're rendering a small image, the subsurface scatter routine has fewer pixels to work with. This leads to patterns appearing on the face. It can be reduced by changing the shading rate and scale in the surfaces I believe, but I've not had much luck in doing so myself.

What size is the render you're attempting? Making it bigger will drastically reduce the effect you're seeing.

I was making one that was about 700x500. I usually keep the render size small due to time.
