hair generation confusion

i just bought this http://www.daz3d.com/elle and noticed she's wearing hair meant for generation 1 females, http://www.daz3d.com/audrina-hair, is the hair compatible with 'elle' preset character and generation 2 female in general? thanks

    Yes and no.

    Between G1 and G2, you can usually use the hair by using autofit. (See attached Images - Autofitting G1 Duke Hair to G2F).
    Otherwise, just load the hair without selecting a character, move it into the right position and adjust the size until it fits your character, and then parent it to the character's head.

    For short hair styles it is better use translate, rotation and/or scale to get it to fit the figures head then parent in place to the head. Adding a smoothing modifier to the hair if necessary for a tight fit.
