size of the rendered animation

I have Daz Studio 4.6 installed in my Apple Imac , every time i rendered a scene to a quick time movie animation, even for only 2 seconds, its size could be over 100 Mb. recently I installed DZ on a Apple laptop, here strangely every time I rendered a scene to a quick time move, it automatically shrink the size of the movie, ( i am not sure if compress is the right word here ) it is soooo cool and convenient. May I ask what I could do to make my other Daz studio do the same, making the size of the rendered movie so much smaller but still have the similar quality?

I'd firstly recommend rendering to still images instead of rendering direct to video. Two reasons. Firstly, you'll have more overall control on the animation. Any frames which need tweaking can be done so before compiling it into a render. You can also add postwork, if needed. Secondly, if anything goes wrong during the render you only need to render the frames after the error occurred. It's a good habit to get into and saves time in the long run.
There are numerous programs, even free ones, which can take an image sequence and convert it to a video file of any format. You'll also have more control over the compression. A high compression results in a loss of quality, but a smaller file size. A low compression results in high quality but larger file sizes.
Don't forget that the file size will also depend on the resolution of each frame. If you're rendering a 600x480 video it's going to use up less space than a 1920x1080 video even if the frames match.
