Use the same hard disk of installed files on new machine

I've updated meta data. Does it mean that I can immediately use the installed files on a hard disk to the new machine (with specified path of Content Directory Manager)?

Installed how? A fesh load of emtadata will not pick up files installed through Daz Studio itself, though a backed-up database will (that is how I moved my content over a couple of years ago).
