Patter overlays never seem to work for me

It seems that whenever I buy clothing that has pattern/graphic overlays they never work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. As an example, I recently bought a pair of socks that include a base texture with pattern overlays (stripes, stars, etc.). I can load the base texture just fine, but when I click on the pattern, simply nothing happens. In the attached image I'm using a G8.1F with the RN bunny socks. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. Any help is much appreciated!

    a lot of those products are only visible in render and only good for iray

    I myself wish they would include that fact in their product descriptions so I don't waste my money on them

    fine for those using only iray of course

    Ah I see, will try that out and see if it works! I agree, would be really nice if they said that in the description. Thanks a lot for your help!

    Any product that says it's "overlay" presets means that those are set in the overlay channel, which is only visible once you render or use iray preview.
