V6? install manager??

I am about to pull my hair out!
I finally decided to learn DS and already I am about to uninstall it!
I have used the install manager to install DS and V6....yet it wont open v6 says it cant find the duf. I go looking for it and I cant find it either. I look in the user, name, daz folder etc...nothing.
I find a folder in user/public/ public documents/My daz library...and still nothing.
I check the install manager, uninstall it(v6) which says its installed. And go to reinstall it...it says its installed...and nothing.
I cant use g2 either as when I try and load it....it says an armor file is missing and wont load. (just tried to re-load and this is what I got /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 2/Female/Genesis2Female.dsf )
I used the install manager to install the essentials and...it -says- its installed...but cant use it.
This is so frustrating!

First, in DIM, check the location to which you installed the V6, Genesis 2 Starter Essentials, etc.

If your default contgent folder is empty, but DIM says it has installed the content, then it must have installed it elsewhere. (for example, http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/installing_software_plugins_and_content/tutorials/basiccontentinstall/start accidently left the Carrara content path set as installation path, and forgot to switch back to my DAZ Content installation path. Then DS wouldn't find the content, of course.

Then, is that folder set in your DAZ Studio Content folders? If no, you have to tell DAZ Studio where it should look for the content:

BTW, have you installed all of the Genesis Essentials? There should be three files. And V6 doesn't have an amor as default load, so are you certain you are simply loading her into the scene?
