What are EHSS and SSS specifically when referring to character/people materials ?
I've been having problems with lines appearing in models' skins and was wondering if maybe I was using the wrong EHSS/SSS ...

I presume that when you say EHSS you mean Elite Human Surface Shaders. You can find out more about those here

EHSS has SSS incorporated in to the shader but I would use Uber Surface shader as EHSS is just a cut down version of Uber Surface but gives you more advanced features than EHSS.
