Fur is not rendered properly

Is about 2 weeks that I can't render fur properly. Whe I bought Zeus (the cat), the fur was properly rendered.
For two weeks the fur seems more as if is taken from a screenshot, even when I load default settings What should I do?

Which tool is active? If you are not using a posing tool try switching to one (e.g. the Universal tool).

Thank you. Now it looks about correct.
Is the fur supposed to look this shiny?

Possibly, it's a pretty strong, sharp light in the scene.

Lower the gloss by increasing roughness.
