They could be due to the shading rate...so what are your render settings?
Or they could be caused by the geometry of the 'water' intersecting the geometry of the tank...if that's the case, try scaling down the 'water'...not much, try 99.9% or 99.8%.
Yep...need the shading rate and the raytrace depth. If you hit All you should be able to get both items in the shot, if you scroll down past the size settings.
I have 3 that I use and they all come out the same. rigid water, liquid pack and the iray shader. they all come out the same. I found a glass that works but water I still get lines.
try converting the model to SubD and rendering. Do the lines go away? If they do, is that usable? If bits go AWOL, try changing the Edge Interpolation setting under Mesh Resolution in the Parameters pane.

Pictures are worth thousands of words...can you post a render or screenshot?
Actually, both...a render and screenshot showing your surface settings, one showing your render settings...
how is this?
The vertical lines in the tank in the front?

What do you mean scale down?
these settings?

I see shade rate but not raytrace depth.
It should be 4 up from Gain...Max Ray Trace Depth.
ok its at a 2.
Up it to at least 4...possibly 6.
It will slow the render down somewhat, but it will give much better glass, especially at the transition between the glass and the liquid.
Thank u i will try it
no good didn't work :(
Which set is it?
You should probably drop the shading rate to about .5, too...
Set?
What product is it.

That looks like the dystopina containment tank

Not sure about the center piece, maybe the regenerator?

Yes thats right its both products. Why? I try to change them and make them completely differnt.
It makes it easier for people to replicate your problem and find a solution if they can test with the same products you are using.

Sorry i dont understand any of that.
Select the figure or prop. Edit>Figure(or prop)>Geometry>Convert to SubD. try rendering.
Ok ill try that. What is sub d?
Seems to be working but the render is taking forever.
Yep...all the above suggestions will increase the quality of the render...and geometry, but at a cost of increased render time.
Nope i was wrong didnt work. Thanks anyway everyone.
