weird lines on skin in render

Hey everyone. I've run into this problem a coupe of times. In the past I've had to rebuild my scenes from scratch to get rid of these weird lines that are showing up on her skin, but I'm hoping to find a better way to resolve the issue. Any idea what is causing this?

You need to adjust the SSS scale and/or shading rate on the surfaces using the SubSurface Shader - all surfaces using the shader and having the same GroupID must use the same values, it's simplest to use the Surface selection tool, right click on an affected surface and choose Select all with Value, then pick Group ID from the list..
Okay... how do I adjust the SSS scale and/or shading? Do I use the "Ambient SSS contribution" slider or the "Pre SSS - Post SSS" slider, or some other one that doesn't have SSS in the title? Which way do I need to adjust them.
Under the Surface settiings...
And usually I start with the Shading Rate...drop it to 4 or lower.
Okay, I got the weird lines in her skin fixed. But now I'm having another problem. Her lips are rendering really off colored: almost brown. Any ideas what is going on? When I look at her outside of the render they are redish pink which is how I want them.
Under the Surfaces, select Lips and post a screenshot of the settings...
I can only get a small fraction of the settings on the screen. Is there a way to shrink those sliders so I can see more of them at once?
Switch the layout to City Limits or City Limits Lite...and do a series of screenshots and paste them together in a paint/image editor.
Switching to both of those layouts made it so there were even less of the sliders on the screen. Anyways, I think this is what you wanted?
I don't see any odd colors or anything...although you may want to turn off the velvet on the lips. It's not really needed.
I reloaded one of the SSS presets I had AND changed her skin to that of another character. That seemed to get things straightened out. Thanks for the help everyone, I guess sometimes the answer is just "start over" or at least partially so.
