PC+ Freebies - Do they change every week?

Hi All,

I'm a little confused. I signed up to PC+ a while ago and it said that they release new freebie content every Wednesday to PC+ members but so far I only see these freebies update occasionally; certainly not every Wednesday though.

Am I missing something? Is there somewhere special you have to go to find these freebies?

    Thanks. Yeah, thats what I thought. But I downloaded the Back to School freebie a few days ago and Wednesday has been and gone and the freebies are still the same.

    Do they mean that they update every Monday, rather than Wednesday?

    The back to school stuff was a freeby for everyone, at least while I took the chance to get it (without any other purchase)

    Yeah, this is the point I'm trying to make though. I'm a PC+ member and at the start of the week I downloaded all of the freebies that were available to me at the time (monthly and weekly). I then checked again today and nothing has changed.

    It clearly states in the description for PC+ that "Exclusive free items for all Platinum Club Plus Members released every Wednesday in addition to the exclusive Monthly freebie!" (direct quote from the site).

    So my question is, how come no new freebies were released this Wednesday? (and not just THIS Wednesday). And shouldn't they be exclusive?

    Either I'm missing something obvious, or they're making false (or possibly just poorly worded) claims. Lets not forget that PC+ is not free to join.

    Back to school was released on 10th, ie Tuesday, but depending on time zone would be Wednesday for some, as I believe the person who usually does the new PC releases lives in the Southern Hemisphere

    No it wouldn't.

    I downloaded Back to School at 9:15am (GMT) on Tuesday 10th Feb and I know that it was on the site well before then. Now if you assume that they're taking into account the country of Kiribati, which I highly doubt, then the furthest ahead the world clock can be from that is +14 hours, which is 11:15pm Tuesday 10th Feb (by the way southern/northern hemisphere has only very little to do with time zones - Cape Town in South Africa is in the Southern Hemisphere, but it still only uses GMT+2).

    I seriously doubt they publish their offers based on Kiribati time anyway. But it would be more accurate to say that they post the new freebies on Tuesday then.

    It also doesn't explain why people who aren't PC+ members are able to download that freebie as well, despite it supposedly being a PC+ exclusive.

    I've actually been wondering about this too. Been thinking about joining the PC+ again when I can afford it. I used to think it was worth it just for the freebies. But now the only freebie I'm missing out on is the PC+ monthly freebie, as everybody gets the weekly ones now. I'll probably still rejoin for the other perks, but there does seem to be no rhyme or reason to the freebies lately.

    PC+ is still a fairly good deal, but the "exclusive" weekly freebies was a big reason why I signed up for it (because I'm on a budget). I'm just trying to ascertain whether I've been duped by false advertising, or if I'm just misunderstanding how it works.

    It does state very clearly that we get "Exclusive free items for all Platinum Club Plus Members released every Wednesday" but from what I've been able to tell we get the same freebies as everyone else (so not exclusive) and they're not released every Wednesday.

    The weekly freebie should be free to anyone who buys an item at the same item, not to people with only the freebie in the cart. PC members get the items unconditionally free. We can point out that the day is wrong (Tuesday instead of Wednesday).

    Yes, but it appears that for awhile now the weekly freebie has been free to everyone with no purchase requirement. So, it is no longer a special benefit to PC/PC+ members

    Thanks Richard. The weekly freebies are free to everyone, regardless of purchase. Log out of your account and try adding one to your cart - you'll see it charges you nothing. Maybe it isn't meant to be that way, but it is and has been for a while. I could get them for free before I started my PC+ membership. So they aren't exclusive, which means that the PC+ deal is lying. Good job the US doesn't have the Trade Descriptions Act ;)

    So, with regards to my original question... as we didn't know what day they come out, or that they are free to all, are we totally sure that new weekly freebies are actually released every week? It might just be observational bias on my part, but it doesn't feel like thats been the case either. I could be wrong, of course.

    Actually Richard nevermind about any of this. I was probably wrong about everything.

    I just realised my PC+ membership runs out tomorrow, so no need to make any changes ;)

    I can't recall a week when there hasn't been a freebie, though it's sometimes been Wednesday (for real) and I think once was Thursday.

    Well, my PC+ membership ran out a few days ago and today (Tuesday btw) I just downloaded the "Exclusive" weekly PC+ freebie for free (with no purchases necessary). I guess I was paying my membership fees for nothing.

    Accounts that have never been PC members can also "purchase" and download the PC+ freebie without purchasing anything else. This was mentioned several days ago. Why has it not been fixed? Or is it intentional and another dilution of the promised PC benefits?

    I've been wavering on renewing my PC+ membership. The benefits I see right now are the 51% off the DAZ Originals when they're first released and 30% thereafter, the monthly exclusive freebie, and $12 worth of coupons. Offering the free weekly freebie to all isn't a deal breaker for me, though it does make the PC+ membership less valuable. Other things which make it less valuable are the continuous sales and being a PC+ member for a day deals. More than anything, the PC+ membership deals really make me question whether I should spend an extra $70 for a yearly membership (more if I go quarterly). Still the $12/monthly in coupons pays for the $70. However, there are so many restrictions, I find myself disappointed at times.

    I don't know. Not being a PC member the last few weeks has really change the way I shop. I find myself spending a lot of time manipulating my cart... putting things back that I would have saved on as a PC member with the thought I'll hold off in the off chance I'll renew my membership. Then I find myself really trying to bargain shop, using the various sales. I don't think I'm necessarily spending less. Rather, I'm being more selective and tend to by PA items rather than DAZ Original items.

    Even though the page says "This Week’s Freebies", they only change about every 2 weeks.

    Umm... I just noticed on the new PC+ page http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-plus that it no longer mentions the monthly PC+ freebie, only the weekly ones.

    Is this an error of marketing, or have they changed the conditions of PC+ membership?

    Yeah, I know we currently have a monthly freebie - I'm just wondering if there will be anymore in the future? The PC+ terms seem to suggest there won't be (unless they've just forgotten to mention it).

    I notice that all the items on the current freebies page are products I already purchased months ago... also for free. :-P

    So I guess DAZ has completely run out of items they can properly offer for gratis and is now recycling their old freebies catalog.

    The good news is, if you missed it for free the first time...

    My point about the monthly PC+ freebie 'possibly' disappearing from now on is that it would mean they've changed the terms and conditions of PC+ membership shortly after I (and probably many other customers) joined it. If that were the case, and I'm not saying it definitely is, then it would be very immoral and potentially illegal.

    Hopefully they've just forgotten to put it on the http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-plus page and thats all. I think I'll raise a ticket about it just to be sure.
