Can’t seem to save image using Reality 4 for Daz Studio?
I understand now that the render doesn't stop on it's own, and that it is supposed to be saving every 3 minutes and also when we close Reality, but it isn't saving for me unless I am missing something (read the users guide). I have it set to save .png to my desk top, but none are showing up.
Here is my first render, I had to use the snipping tool to capture it. I am so excited at the results right out of the box! Love the hair.

Look in the Output "Image file name" box in Reality 4 under the Render tab. That is where your image is saved—perhaps it is not where you thought.
If you click the Change button for this field the folder will open and you should see your image there. You can't view it from there but you could copy the address shown at the top of that window and paste it into a new Windows explorer window and you will then know exactly where this is.
If you don't like this location you could change it for your next renders.
I do have the "image file name" set to my desktop. When I click on "change" button I get a window offering to let me add a file name and save, but if I change the name and hit save all it does is change the name under "image file name". I did find these error messages in the log. They repeat over and over again. Am I missing a folder, or should I not try to save to my desktop?

EDIT:
Added the image of the files going to the right places:
Reality tech got back to me, just in case someone else has this issue... you need to have the "Image file name" and the "Scene file name" in the same folder... I didn't realize that! Works like a charm now :)
I'm new to this as well and know less than you me thinks!!!
I followed a tut step by step on youtube until I got to the box shown above, but am struggling to know how and where to find where to save, and the image name being the same and all that stuff etc.
E.G On the tut his shows.....applications/Luxrender...mine is programs\Luxrender...also it says you need to have a camera in the scene...There is and was a main camera and that didn't work, so I added another camera and the same, no joy.
To be honest I'm not really very clear on the whole process??? Do scene...open Lux (box above) in Daz....I assume once the above is sorted it opens Lux...then how or even does it? go back into Daz??
Anyone know of an "easy" to follow tut that's a little more simplified.... as I'm simple when it comes to all this!!!!!! :-)
Any help warmly received. Ta
Did you sort your camera problem?
Reality opens Lux when you press the Render Frame button on the Render tab (shown in Orjanna's screenshot). In that same tab, but clicking on Renderer in the grey panel, make sure that the location folder for Luxrender is filled in so that Reality can find it. In Windows that will be typically C:\Program Files\Luxrender[something]. If that's empty, click change and navigate to the Lux program folder. The Applications folder you mention looks like Mac OS to me.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I will have a look again at this and see if I can get any further with it. Thanks!!!
N.B...No to camera...just kept saying a camera was needed in the scene????
Had that scene been previously used to render via any other version of Reality? There have been issues with cameras not loading in Reality in scenes that used older versions.
Once this has happened there is no fix that I know of for that particular scene. Although what you can do is to save the items (excluding the cameras) as a scene subset and then merging the subset in to a brand new empty scene. Then add a camera. Reality should then read it properly.
If your scene can easily be redone I would start a brand new scene. Might be an idea to close and restart Studio before doing so, and you should definitly close Reality down.
Yes you are probably right, as similarly sometimes a body or eyes for example render white and by saving and reopening sorts it out.
I'll just have to plod on with good old trial and (mostly) error lol :-)
Thank you for taking the time to reply..appreciate it!!
EDIT: Never mind. Just realized that the answer is already there. That's what happens when you don't realize that a thread is there, I guess.
(If ever they replace this forum software, I really hope we get something that allows us to delete posts that haven't been responded to.)
Thank you, got the same issue! :D
