Thinking a fisheye lens camera for Daz Studio could produce some very interesting looks.

    you mean a spherical camera?
yes use the one in Carrara a lot to render 360 backgrounds
    Bryce has one too

A fisheye lens is an ultra wide-angle lens that produces strong visual distortion intended to create a wide panoramic or hemispherical image

Carrara is way out of my price range, I'm afraid! I compose all of my character-based stuff in Daz Studio.

They use it a lot in 'Alien 3' and it produced some interesting effects with speed. Was hoping to combine the effect with the motion-blur technique for DS. Was also thinking it would be good to simulate security camera and missile seeker point-of-views with.

You can set the Focal length to a really low value in both Poser and DS.

Would that distort the image to the typical spherical shape?

No. The Daz camera won't bend/warp the image the way a fisheye lens will. You'll get the focal similarity, but the image won't be curved.

Even the one Wendy mentioned for Bryce is an add on, not a standard feature. http://www.daz3d.com/horo/bryce-7-1-pro-lenses-and-filters

Seems that someone was able to take this product suggestion and run with it, after all!

I was looking for a way to make the camera do a fisheye and couldn't find one. Luckily this does exactly what I was looking for. (set to 180° in my case)

Yes, I did retire the emulated fish eye lens.

How do you get the image is curved? I can't figure out how to do it, even when I have both products: The Fisheyes and the Small World Camera. None of them make the image curved, or at least I don't know how to do it.

    Could someone explain me, please?

Can only speak for the emulated fisheye lens,  but it is ONLY for the 3Delight render engine. That's why it is retired, it was created before iray existed for daz studio,  so it does not work with iRay.

But it does work and curve the image if you render using 3Delight.

iray now has options under the camera's lens parameters added since this old thread

they only show using iray though not flat, textured or Filament view etc
