[Solved] Applying my own character into a previous character

I have a series of scenes I created a while ago, all containing a certain chcarcter I created. Since I'm not happy with that character, I want to change into another one with minimal hassle, i.e. save the pose and clothes but change the character wearing them.

I noticed that when I click on a character on the scene in Scene View and then I right click on a commercial character in the content library, I get the "Character Loading Options" screen and the option to Apply that charcter into the character existing in the scene but when I attempt to Apply my own charcter, I don't get the "Character Loading Options" screen.

How do I get the "Character Loading Options" screen to the charcters I saved, or if anyone has an idea how to smoothly help me replace old characters with (my) new ones, I'll be happy to learn it.

Are these character presets (File>Save As>Character Preset)?
