SSS Map?

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Hello!

I've seen people talk about having an SSS map and using it for their models in this forum but I am not sure in which section do I insert the SSS map.I also found AJ's blood vessel maps but similarly am not sure which section to place them in.

    Generally, for iray, it goes in the Translucency channel.

    It can also be put in other channels, but that's dependent on the effect one is going for.

    Custom shaders further complicate it.

    An SSS map will usually go with a specific set of other maps - base, bump/normal/dispalcement etc., rather than being something independent.
