They think I'm crazy! But I know better. It is not I who am crazy. It is I who am mad!
Ok i need to try and get back to the topic of why i started this thread though i will slide back to weird renders that do not have anything to do with anything.
Not 100% sure but this may be the look i use for this story. ( oh and yet another costume change for one of my characters.)
Looks pretty damn cool to me.
Just a thought though, I'm not sure about the back ground having the blurry depth of field. It seems a little at odds with the ink line style of the image, if that makes sense?
Otherwise, it's very nice. Very nice indeed. ;-)
yep i'm going to have to agree with you there. i didn't like how it turned out with the ink line over the blurred parts myself . i thought it was cool last night but when i woke up and looked at it again i was like "what was i thinking."

I'm not sure how this will look here it's like 50/50 chance of it not looking horribad on the forums when i post these types of pictures.
still toying with various ideas on how i want to present what ever it is i am working on (it's a secret even to me i don't want to spoil the surprise so I'm not letting my self know what it is till it's done)
Hmm... in that case I either like it a lot or I don't. Guess I'll know when you do... %-P
I like it but it very much depends on the context in which it is used.
In the right context it looks great (not that I can give an example of when it would), in the wrong context it looks a bit retro video game stylee (or perhaps that is also the right context)......if you see what I mean.
I hope what ever it is you are doing will be a pleasant surprise when you tell yourself what it is. :-)
whats funny is i'm only half kidding. i will write and then sometimes cast a die when i hit certain areas where i feel i could go one way or another during a story lol.
just a regular picture, nothing to do with any story or anything, was just bored and decided to work on something different.
A nice render but the water isn't working for me. I like the splashes but the surface is much too flat. With so much movement there would ripples and
waves on the surface.
Another day, another marathoning of community on hulu lol
so anyway did this one during the paint ball episode. (first one) was thinking of doing this as a paintball fight but changed my mind.
Great work.
Even greater imagination.
Love it.
thanks : )
Outstanding. :-)
Love the use of colour in your works, I really feel the mood when I look at these. The light glow is also something great to see in renders, its one of those things not easily achieved in 3Delight.. Your style is very much graphic novel themed, its great to see! Id reckon they'd be great in prints for that reason :)
Yeah David sure has an eye for colour. I love looking at his Images and thinking I want to be able to do that too.
@ John Sims, Spyro, Szark,artd3D thanks :)
here's a comparison of the base render and the finished version.
Mostly done in Gimp (base in D|S 4.6) i'd say roughly 30-35 layers before Gimp said were done. add another layer and i'll freeze on you,... so i added more layers and it froze on me saved what i had merged them all down and started again with adding layers over top lol.. I do have an old version of photoshop but after using Gimp for so long i can't find my way through other than save to web.
I didn't get a chance to repaint the hair like i wanted too, i tried to give myself somewhat of a time limit. been working a comic and i am really dragging my heels a bit so been trying to see if i can get a little faster.
I think the original looks great as well. Some people think you can start with a rough image and make it good in post. A really good image needs a good base.
There's a phrase " You can't polish a bird" (at least that's what it sounds like :-) )
Great base image, very nice post work, great final image.
I don't have anything to say!! :gulp:
♫I've got nothing to say
I've got nothing to say
I've got nothing to say
I'm in utter dismay
I've got nothing to say♪
ahh now i have that song stuck in my head
And my work here is done!
:D
I almost never go back to something i already finished, but i was bored and didn't want to start another from scratch.
Hmmm....I think I like the earlier version, the last one kind of overwhelms with yellow glow.
Now you are just showing off :-)
Except...ah...ah.... [Whisper] Her hair would be sticking to her if it were that wet [/whisper] ;-)
yeah i knew the hair was going to be my big problem doing the re -edit since the main picture didn't have anything to do with rain lol.
I even tried making it at least look wet but in the end it just didn't look right so i left it alone.
I know you are all as sick as I am seeing this picture but i promise last time using this picture as my guinea pig .
Should be a little less yellowy too this time around.
(no seriously this is the last time with this one)
And there was me wondering what it would look like with a blue, de saturated dreary night time look to it ;-)
I suppose this would not be the time to mention that sodium lights are obsolete, and being replaced by blue-white led's... :P
Just giving you a hard time...postwork's looking good! :cheese:
I think i like the first one the best, but i liked the hair in the last one. i think i learned a couple things while re working the image though that I'll use in the future.
anyway thanks for looking at the same image over and over lol, i'll try not to continue doing that.
Not sure if it's me but i think the third on is a bit (pardon the pun) washed out
