I think they can be used to make great Neanderthals (with a little tweaking)...

Not so sure about a Neanderthal (skull shape ought to be more rounded and jaw not pushed forward, they're not that unlike modern humans), but if you gave him huge cheekbones and a more chimp-like mouth, he'd be pretty close to a reconstruction of the much older robust Australopithecine.
Now that's an idea for a character series — the human family tree. I don't think there's been anything in the DAZ store since Homo Erectus for V4/M4/K4 and Neanderthal Evolution for M4.
