You need a super computer to work with G8 HD figures - Otherwise it kills your computer and forget adding an envirorment.
Its a shame. I will only work with G2 and G3 figurs from now on...

    Is the Subdivision level any higher on the Genesis 8 figures than on the earlier? The base resolution is comparable.

    I'm on a iMac from 2011, and G8 in environment seems to work ok.   Though I have 16gb RAM, perhaps that helps.

    I know what you mean as I had a similar issue. Some characters have the SubD level cranked up to 3 or 4 by default for the viewport. All you have to do is lower it to 1, problem solved.

    I have tried to lower it to 2-But with same diffuculties. So ok i will try to lower it to 1 and see what happens.
