Is there a way to limit iray to 256 colors?

I want to make gifs and gifs only support 256 colors as far as I know. Can I limit iray to 256 colors somehow?

Probably wiser to look for a program that creates GIFs, there are tools on-line. Photoshop and the likes also have options to limit the palette and export as GIF. Don't think IRAY renders / saves in 256 colors.
