It would be nice if Silo had some bridges. They talked about doing them before they went on hiatus.

...I would seriously consider getting Silo if that happened. Right now it's only 109$.

On steam it's $60 and I know it was $30 once. If you hate steam well, that's an issue. I know some people dislike it a lot. I don't have issues with it myself.
If you buy it through Steam is it keyed to Steam, i.e. you need a Steam client running?

...just not interested in having to be online to do my work.

I have it end up the flags even when working on a new model without any textures.

My personal preference would be to not have it tied to my Steam account, but I got it for £20 in Steam sale, so it's a fair compromise in the circumstances.

    ok well that does stink.

BTW Last I checked with steam you only need to reconnect every 30 days. So you can do stuff in offline mode as needed. I'm always online though, how I roll. But when Inet is down steam stuff still works for me.

Thought I'm not suggesting Silo at all, its more of a thing where instead of paying 110, 60 is better.

I have it for gaming too but I won't use Steam for anything serious.

...I'm only regularly online on my notebook. For the workstation it is only for downloading, registration, and update purposes. I do all my CG work offline to apply all available resources I can to building scenes and rendering.

There is a work offline mode for steam.
