Solved: workaround shaolin hair on genesis?

I really like shaolin hair, and it works fine on m4, but when I auto fit to genesis, the hair loses the ability to easy pose or move the ponytail. I can simply add it to the scene and move the hair manually, but it doesn't fit the scalp properly. Does anyone else have this problem or any suggestions on how to fit the hair so the movements stay intact?

When this happens, I parent the hair to the head without using "Fit to"
Then I look for the Scale of X, Y, Z and I play with those until I get a good fit. Have you tried that? :)
Like Knight said. I had the same problem with this product when I first got it, hair works fine without using fit to though. There are other hair products I ran into the same issue with. Using it like a prop works like a charm and you can still use smoothing if you want.
Thanks both of you. That works better.
Problem is my alien hazai has a sort of odd-shaped head so getting it to fit the alien head shape is a bit hard. If I get it to look okay in the front in the scalp line, the scalp sticks out in the back, if I shrink it to make the back fit, the hairline is too steep.
I'll try messing around with it.
I wish there was a way to hide the tail of the hair, so I could parent one set to the head and use the autofit scalp and then stick a second hair on to use the ponytail, but there doesn't seem to be a way to hide the ponytail that I can see so only the scalp is visible
You both have been very helpful! I'll continue to mess with it. Thank you.

Could you use the polygon selection tool to make the parts you don't want to see into their own surface, and then turn the opacity down on them? The only hair I've tried it on was Unshaven body hair, but it worked well.
I'll try that. I've never used that tool before but I think it will be interesting to try something new.
edit. It seems the scalp and ponytail are one piece. While I can make the bands go away, I can't seem to single select just the tail and hide it.
I have it fitting better now after shrinking it. It is not as good as the autofit though in the hairline. There is a tilt ability and I've kind of tilted it back a bit and shrunk it down on the sides and the shelf look is better.
I'll mess around with it some more.
How good are you with 2D paint programs? When all else fails, I'll take the hair piece in my favorite 2D Paint program (in my case, the GIMP) and I'll load up the transparency map the hair uses. Then I mess with it until I get the trans the way I want and make the offending parts disappear.
Why not try it, see if it works. :)
That seems doable. I'll try that when I get back to my pc.
That proved to be just the ticket! I autofit one shaolin hair to the head and removed the tail and bands and then I stuck another scalp into the head, and placed the tail right where the old ponytail came out and now I have a really decent moving band.
GRAS. You've been tremendous help today! Thanks

Your very welcome, SereneNight! :) Glad it worked out for ya. ;)
Now, you have fun with that "Hazai" ok? :)
