HinkyPunk's 'Prototype XT-4'...Problems...(SOLVED)

Guys and Gals,

I recently bought Hinky Punk's rather cool-looking 'Prototype XT-4' Gynoid.

My question:

What magical powers are needed to get the DARN thing to RENDER properly?!

I'm MISSING something, but I don't know WHAT.

I've TRIED clicking 'Step 1'...G3F comes in (with white eyes) as a featureless gray silhouette...(think 50% gray surface with 100% Ambient...)

Creepy...but not what I was expecting.

I select G3F, and then double-click #2...Armor shell.

It loads, and I do a render. Now Ms. Featureless Ambient Grey is wearing BLACK armor. I go and select Armor, then go and pick an armor color...

You can see the color (barely)...but it has NO highlights...and is almost black. (If I pick White armor, it renders as white, but almost blown out, as if the Ambient channel is high.)

I've tried doing the above for the inner materials and, again...nothing.

I still see Ms. Featureless Ambient Gray wearing near-black, slightly colored armor with no shine or REAL highlights.

If I start with a NORMAL G3F, and apply the armor, I wind up with the same look armor on a human form.

Even If I try the PRESETS...The Pre-Made color schemes...THAT leads me to the same place...

(I'm using the 3D Delight render engine, BTW.)

 

I'm COMPLETELY BAFFLED, people...what do I do? What am I MISSING? Is there a tutorial on how to use this product?!

    The product looks made with Iray in mind, which is why 3Delight isn't working as you'd expect. The two engines don't render the same way, which is why a lot of products come with different materials for both (they also don't use the same shader). This product appears to only have Iray mats included.

    Ah, okay...THANKS, Vaskania. It's a relief. I thought I was doing something wrong.

    Agh. Just went BACK to the Product page...Didn't even notice the iRay stuff!

    So I went full Ding-Dong and didn't READ! The promo pictures bewitched me! laugh

    Hm. Maybe I can fiddle with the normal 3Delight engine and see if I can make it work. frown
