Importing Turbosquid obj-files

I'm getting the feeling TurboSquid models only look good on the box. Two days ago I bought this set: https://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/817852#
I downloaded the rar-file containing what I expected to be all 14 pieces of kitchen equipment as separate objects. What I got was a rar file with a bunch of jpg's to use as materials, one single obj-file and the accompanying mtl-file. The obj-file imports into Daz as a single figure, with all 14 appliances standing in two neat rows. And that's it... No possibility to get the pieces of equipment separated, no way to even apply different textures to them... Nothing.
So, my question is double:
- Did other people have the same experience as me?
- Does anyone know a way to solve this... ? I want to set up a pizzeria kitchen for a story, but that plan's been moved to the back.

Maybe abit of a long work around but I would normally open the turbos quid obj in a modelling program (personally I use c4d but others will work too) and literally disect the parts I want to seperate and then save them as separate objs......there is probably a way to do it in Daz perhaps with the geometry tool but in all honesty I'm not an expert at that and so would use the first method :)
You could also use the Geometry Editor to go through selecting each piece (click on it to select a polygon, ctrl(Win)/cmd(Mac) * to select all connected, right-click>Geometry Visibility>Hide Unselected Polygons right-click>Geometry Editing>Removed Hidden, export as OBJ under a new name) or, assuming it has a group for each piece, you could turn it into a figure via the Figure Setup pane. Sorry, I was speaking generally - in this case what I suggested probably would work still, but it wold be a bit more of a fiddle - I would probably try to make each piece into a separate figure.
Actually this is interesting to me though so thank you for it still ;)
