Solved - Nvidia cards not recognized by renderer

Hi all.

I've had two Titan Z's rendering fine for almost 2 years...first in 4.8 and later 4.9.  Had some work done on my pc and now after getting it back Daz 'see's' the cards but doesn't recognize them for rendering.

Drivers for cards are up to date.  Have upgraded to the latest 4.9 release.  Image below is of log file ... which doesn't say much except that it's not finding the cards.  Renders fine on CPU just not cards ... which is what they're for.

Is there a way to get daz to re-initialize/recognize the cards for render purposes?

So just to make sure.... when you say "Drivers for cards are up to date"
Did you verify this yourself, or are you just taking the word of whoever worked on your computer?
If the drivers are "up to date" with the newest windows update drivers that could be your problem.

You might want to try uninstalling the GPU drivers and installing the newest from Nvidia from scratch.

JamesJAB - You are a genius

Went to NVidia's site and downloaded their drivers and installers instead of trusting windows to update the latest drivers.  Chose the option for a clean install and Bingo... all is well.  Is there a place I can send you some money or something?

No problem, I learned long ago that Microsoft distributed Nvidia drivers only include DirectX compatibility.

I've got the same error message here, but it only happened one time, so it was a weird random event.  Rendering wouldn't work anymore, so I quit Daz Studio and started it up again.

I really don't know if it's the drivers or if it's a bug.  I've been using the same setup for several months without issues.
