Police gun belt bends with hips...how to stop it.

I noticed with several characters- with anything around the hip area.
It bends when the hips bend. How do you mount an object onto the hip area and have it stay attatched to the hips ot thigh but NOT bend or distort when the character bends?

With a belt, morphs or maybe clkever weight mapping. For things attached to the belt, such as a torch, a Rigid Follow Node is the usual answer
I would probably attach it to a null and place it manually. I do that with dog tags all the time since they tend to deform to the character's pecs.
Okay..I will experiment. So the null object attaches to the hip and the Belt/torch/gun holster attaches or parents to that,,,,
A Rigid Follow Node is like a null, but it moves (without deforming) with the underlying mesh.
I sometimes just parent a belt to the lower abdomen or pelvis, then tweak for the final pose.
