new nvidia driver update whiteouts current daz studio beta? (SOLVED)

just deleted and redownloaded my copy of the daz studio beta about fifteen minutes ago, as i was having problems with the scalps of several OOT hair products.  then i updated my nvidia drivers (for an evga GTX 1080) via geforce experience.

now the current daz studio beta workspace looks like this when it launches:

the directory navigation menu is unusable, as nearly as i could tell from clicking on the folders that did appear.

the current stable version of the app isn't affected, though.

    That's most likely the result of having DS open when you installed the updated version. Close DS, make sure it really is closed in Task Manager, uninstall, reinstall, and see if it's OK then.
