I have older files that I have not installed with .dsx and .zip file

I run both Poser and Daz Studio (latest versions). I have a lot of older content. I am going to reinstall on a new clean Windows 10 Home build. Do I still need to install the .dsx files??? I think I read that they are no longer needed with the newer Programs. Also can the same zip file be used in both Poser and Daz?
any comments would be appreciated, Mike

Yes, if it's Poser format (or compatible with the DSON Importer) you need install only once for use in Poser and DS - as long as the folder installed to is set as a Poser external library folder.
The .dsx files give details of what is in the zip (where they are paired with a zip - there are other .dsx files). They are not vital but they will be rebuilt if missing. The .dsx files in the Manifests folder tell Install Manager what it has installed - delete those and the product wil reappear in Ready to Install or Ready to Download (dependin on whether or not the zip is still present).
