render keeps crashing, can someone help me interpret the log file?

Hello  - I keep having crash problems on a scene. I tried seperating into parts (backdrop, some props, character and other props) and the part that keeps crashing is the attached sceen shot - just a G3 with books, a micropscope and some test tubes - all things that have rendered OK before. This scene has rendered ok before... I'm not sure what the log file is saying. Anyone have any suggestions? I am rendering in Iray. thanks!

I'm not inclined to download an arbitrary zip file from the Internet. You don't need to zip the log. Just upload the txt version and we can see it directly. Be sure to restart D|S and do a render, so there's only the current render in the log to have to deal with.

It's also helpful if you define "crash." Does the render suddenly stop, or does Daz Studio (or your graphics driver) actually crash and stop working?

aha, sorry - tx files attached.. I get a pop up that says DS has experienced an error and has to close, then it just gives me option to save the log file. I saved all the elements in this scene as a subset and merged them into a new file and that is working -  that render worked. So my basic problem of not being able to render is OK for now but still strange it wouldnt work in the other scene. I am still a newbie so probably didnt something wrong, just not sure what... thanks, any pointers on how to aviod in the future much appreciated

If it starts happening again, go into render settings and untick your GPU (GeForce 830A) and tick the CPU and try render again.

  • I had the same problem, forced my computer to restart. This solved it, thank you!
